The entire published derived catalogue is available as a free compressed JSON download (JSON.gz), including product facts, variants, formulas, identifiers and public provenance. Private accounts and moderation records are excluded.

The dated ingredient audit records a review outcome and sources for every imported variant. A completed review can report insufficient evidence; it does not confirm the current formula or ethical claims.

When reusing the database, credit The Kindest Index and Open Beauty Facts, link to ODbL 1.0 and follow its attribution and share-alike conditions for public derivative databases. The application code and design are outside this database licence.
Community product data
Open Beauty Facts is a community database. We normalize brands and categories, validate barcode check digits and recorded quantities, and group package variants. Its country labels do not confirm current availability. A source edit date does not establish that a formula is current.
Community ingredient lists remain incomplete for ingredient-exclusion filters until separately reviewed. Vegan and cruelty-free labels from Open Beauty Facts do not become accepted claim evidence or certification.
Images and individual contents
Open Beauty Facts individual data contents are covered by the Database Contents License 1.0. Its product photos are covered by Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 3.0; source links and image attribution are recorded with each product. Photos may contain third-party trademarks or packaging artwork with separate rights.

The JSON download references images by URL. Other manufacturers' photos and third-party materials retain their respective rights; the database licence does not grant rights to those images.
